The municipality of Baselga di Piné is made up of ten areas (Baselga, Faida, Miola, Montagnaga, Ricaldo, San Mauro, Tressilla, Vigo) and is situated 967 m above sea-level.
Baselga, the administrative and economic centre, has primarily touristic features; it indeed offers numerous, well-equipped hotel structures, flats for rent, farm holidays and a camping site.
Very well known in this zone is the Serraia Lake which, owing to its regularity and to the consistency of its ice during the winter months, is particularly suitable to the practice of ice-skating.
In the areas of San Mauro, Lases, Albiano and Fornace the main economic activity consists in the extraction and working of porphyry: several quarries are present all over the area.
In San Mauro there is one of the most significant monuments of minor Trentine art, the dating of which goes back to the XIII century: San Mauro church. In Baselga there is the Antica Pieve di S. Maria Assunta, which brings together different artistic styles: from Romanticism to Gothic and from Renaissance to Baroque. Remaining in this zone, the Marian Sanctuary at Montagnaga is worth a visit, being it a noticeable attraction especially in spring during the patronal celebrations.
Sport fans will have the chance to make several excursions both on foot and on mountain bike, to skate in Miola in the famous olympic stadium, and to practice cross-country skiing. Numerous are also the receptive structures: football, tennis and bowling fields, minigolf, riding-grounds and bow-shot.
