Castello Tesino (871 m. a.s.l.) is one of the most popular resorts in Trentino. This valley, indeed, offers good hiking, fishing and hunting opportunities.
This sunny land is maily appreciated for its trails and uncontaminated landscapes: the Lagorai is a nature paradise, suitable to satisfy different requirements - it is the ideal destination to spend holidays aimed at sport and adventure, with the whole family or friends... a succession of gentle hills, wide pastures dotted with woods and alpine lakes, crowned by majestic peaks.
This area offers several opportunities - history, arts, culture and traditions: in the Roman times the famous military road Claudia Augusta Altinate was built. It became a very important way connecting the Venetian plain to central Europe. Some centuries later this road was used by the local sellers specialized in flints and prints. In the last decades economy and tourist promotion have improved: the East Valsugana and the Tesino area offer the visitors an interesting landscape and historical background.
Sightseeing: do not miss the fifteenth-century St. Ippolito Church adorned with frescoes, the caves in Castello Tesino, the Roman bridge, the archeological area, the Wood Museum, the park "La Cascatella", the Celado tableland, the Marande equipped with ski lifts, Passo Brocon with its well-known path "Trodo dei fiori" and pastures.
The Gruppo Paterno has recently renewed the ski lifts located in Marande, near Passo Brocon. You find modern lifts, a new restaurant near the slopes and a chalet at high altitude.
Every 5 years the "Biagio delle Castellare" is organized: this 2-day-long popular kermesse recalls Count Biagio's hanging - this old tyrant ruled the Bassa Valsugana and Tesino area. Moreover, the International Wood-Carving competition takes placeevery year, lasts one week and involves internationally famous artists.
