The Rolle Pass, the pass which links San Martino di Castrozza to the other valleys, lies in the south of the Dolomites, at the foot of the Pale di San Martino, and it is towered by the sharp needle of the Cimon della Pala (3185 m).
The climate and, in winter the programmed snow, make this resort one of the favourite tourist destinations in the whole Alpine arch, and since decades it attracts many tourists both in winter and in the summer period.
In summer, in fact, it represents an excellent starting point for excursions, both on foot and by mountain bike, and for climbing to the marvellous Pale or in the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Natural Park.
Winter, on the contrary, transforms the scenery and covers everything with white snow. Champions and beginners, children and lovers of snowboard and carving, can find here one of the most exciting skiing carousels of the Dolomiti Superski, where it is possible to ski from December till April.
Besides skiing, it is also possible to make guided excursions in the Park, to visit the nature museums, make journeys by sledge or wearing snowshoes.
